The House of Commons will debate the Government's recent proposals to "reform" legal aid on Thursday 27 June 2013 (see this page for background to the Transforming Legal Aid consultation). The debate has been secured by Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather and Labour MP David Lammy.
This could be the only chance that MPs will have to properly scrutinise the proposals because the Government aims to bring in the new cuts by way of secondary legislation. This means it is very important for your MP to be at the debate to represent your views on the proposals.
Send your MP an email to ask them to attend the debate on your behalf.
YLAL has produced a briefing for the debate, which can also be downloaded from below.
