Luton Law Centre (Luton) - Housing/Community Care Solicitor/Caseworker

Luton Law Centre is recruiting a Housing or Community Care Solicitor/Caseworker to join our small, friendly, team as maternity cover until March 2019 for 28 hours per week. A willingness to undertake other areas of law is an advantage.

We run a wide range of Housing and Community Care cases covered by Legal Aid including a significant amount of representation work as part of the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme. Our Housing Caseworkers also provide advice through our specialist telephone advice line on a rota basis.

The post-holder(s) will be responsible for delivering our Housing or Community Care Legal Aid Agency contract, participating in the rota for the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme (as appropriate), and for providing advice through our specialist telephone advice line.

We are seeking a candidate who can offer 28 hours per week (o.8 FTE). We are open to a jobshare and/or a certain degree of flexibility. Applicants should have a minimum of one year’s experience of Housing law or Community Care law.

The role is covering for maternity leave, and will be for a period up to March 2019.

The salary offered for this post is pro-rata (80%) of the full-time salary. The full-time salary is £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
