Our award winning Advice Team is seeking to appoint a talented, hardworking Advice Assistant, with excellent analytical skills.

Are you an ambitious graduate or someone with relevant experience looking to develop a career in law? During your time with us you will liaise with lawyers from Magic Circle law firms and support Community Link’s busy advice team, lawyers, legal trainees, and social workers in carrying out our important work.

Salary - £18,564, per annum (35 hours per week).

This on a yearly, renewable, fixed-term contract, based in Canning Town, London (zone 2&3).

We will also consider applications for part-time as well as full-time Advice Assistants.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include;

  • working with clients and various internal and external stakeholders,
  • opening new incoming cases electronically, uploading data onto the case management system, generating and distributing reports,
  • drafting documents and meeting deadlines,
  • assisting with general administrative support, e.g. drafting documents, paying invoices, responding to general correspondence and other tasks to facilitate our lawyers and advisers.

To be successful you must have;

  • a high level of proficiency in IT, especially with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; fast and accurate keyboard skills and ability to work with a case management system/database,
  • an organised and timely manner, with a good eye for detail,
  • previous experience in an administrative support role will be advantageous but is not essential,
  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely with a wide range of internal stakeholders and clients,
  • enthusiasm, motivation and ability to manage your own workload
  • a sympathetic and compassionate manner and ability to deal sensitively with clients and volunteers
