We are seeking two bright and enthusiastic paralegals to join our high profile Civil
Department for 12 months.
The role involves working as part of a team seeking public and private law remedies arising
from malpractice within the criminal justice system, as well as civil fraud and private client
litigation for both claimants and defendants. Work carried out by the team includes police
actions, civil fraud, human rights challenges, discrimination, data protection and privacy law,
judicial review, inquests and public inquiries.
The role will consist of assisting solicitors with their case preparation. This includes legal
research, interviewing witnesses and drafting statements, attending conferences and court,
analysing evidence, assisting with billing and filing, carrying out other administrative tasks
and dealing with initial enquiries.
The successful applicants will have an excellent academic record with strong written and
verbal skills. Previous paralegal experience is desirable. They will be willing to apply
themselves diligently to a range of tasks from filing to complex legal research. Applicants will
have ideally completed the LPC, BPTC or equivalent.
