Harrow Law Centre (Harrow) - Welfare Benefits Solicitor or Advice Worker

21 hours per week (possibility of increasing to full time)
Salary: £23,100 per annum (£38,500 full time equivalent)
Deadline for applications: 12 Noon on Monday 2nd of March 2020

Harrow Law Centre provides specialist legal advice & representation to
combat disadvantage, discrimination and exclusion. We also work to
influence local and national policy to improve public services for the most
vulnerable. We use the law not only to resolve the legal problem for the
individual but to achieve wider change.

We now want to appoint an additional welfare benefits specialist. The
person appointed will represent clients primarily at first tier appeal
tribunals and will be expected to undertake some appeals to the Upper
Tribunal.

We have small premises in a vibrant community setting. The work is
varied but challenging and we have a happy working environment. Our
main areas of work are Welfare Benefits, Housing, Immigration and
Asylum and Public Law. We have also recently expanded our work to
assist victims of crime who have English as a second language.

Harrow Law Centre is striving to ensure our workplace reflects our
principles of equality and fairness. We therefore operate a system of pay
parity for all staff and applicants must be committed to this principle.
