About Bhatt Murphy
Bhatt Murphy was established in 1998 by a group of lawyers who share a commitment to the protection of civil liberties.
We offer specialist help to members of the public who seek accountability from the state and its officers. We handle complex and serious cases against state agencies including the police, prison and immigration authorities. Our particular areas of expertise include Police Misconduct, Prisoners’ Rights, Immigration Detention, Deaths in Custody, Public Inquiries and the European Court of Human Rights.
Bhatt Murphy provides excellent training in our specialist areas of practice and our trainees and paralegals benefit from working alongside some of the leading practitioners in our field. Our lawyers have the opportunity to work on important and often ground-breaking cases and we are committed to training the next generation of legal aid practitioners.
Bhatt Murphy is an equal opportunities employer. We aim to have a workforce that is representative of the clients we serve and the area in which our firm is based. We strongly encourage applications from members of groups who are under-represented within our firm and in the broader legal profession, including those from minority ethnic backgrounds and candidates with disabilities. We are also keen to hear from candidates with lived experience of our areas of work.
