Hickman & Rose (London) – Civil Litigation and Human Rights Paralegal

Hickman & Rose Solicitors seek a bright and enthusiastic paralegal to join our high-profile civil department for 12 months.

The role involves assisting clients to secure public and private law remedies arising from malpractice within the criminal justice system.  Work carried out by the team includes police actions, human rights challenges, discrimination, data protection and privacy law, judicial review, inquests, and public inquiries, as well as civil fraud

The post-holder will assist two of the department’s solicitors with their case preparation and will include legal research, taking instructions from clients, drafting, attending conferences and court, analysing evidence, assisting with billing and filing. In addition, there will be some administrative tasks as well as dealing with initial enquiries.

The successful applicant will have an excellent academic record with strong written and verbal skills.  They will be willing to apply themselves diligently to a range of tasks from filing to complex legal research. Applicants must have completed the LPC, BPTC or equivalent. Previous paralegal experience, including use of the LAA’s Client and Cost Management System (CCMS), is desirable.

Salary: £27,500 pa
