This year marks 25 years of the Human Rights Act. As the national conversation around human rights becomes increasingly hostile, it is more important than ever for junior practitioners to come together, reflect on the impact of the HRA, and consider how to defend it going forwards.
On Monday 2 December from 6:30 to 8pm, YLAL will be hosting two parallel events, one in London and one in Liverpool, bringing together junior lawyers committed to protecting the HRA and ECHR.
Across both events, attendees will have the opportunity to: • Discuss the role of the HRA in their day-to-day practice • Explore current challenges and potential rollbacks of rights • Connect with other junior practitioners dedicated to defending human rights • Take part in the first of what we hope will be many conversations on safeguarding these vital protections
Refreshments will be provided, and all who are committed to defending the HRA are welcome.
Spaces for both events are limited, so early registration is encouraged. If you can no longer attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to someone on the waitlist.
