Burke Niazi Solicitors is a highly regarded multi-service law firm seeking a Family/care solicitor. They are a Legal Aid practice based in North London, have around 35 employees and are a Legal 500 recognised firm.
The role
Our Family Department is expanding, and we are seeking a newly qualified or junior solicitor to join us. The role will involve a mixed family law caseload, with a primary focus on public law care proceedings. Candidates who have a mixed practice are welcome to apply as opportunity to undertake other areas of work alongside.
The role will involve:
- Acting for parents and family members in care proceedings
- Managing a general family law caseload (private children, domestic abuse, divorce/finances depending on experience)
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate
- Working closely with experienced colleagues
- Providing high-quality representation to vulnerable clients
About You
- Newly qualified or up to 3 years PQE in family law
- Demonstrable experience of legal aid family work
- Strong interest and experience in public law children matters
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work proactively
- Commitment to access to justice and highquality legal aid practice
