Join the YLAL Committee

YLAL is looking for dedicated people to join the committee. The committee is a diverse mix of students, trainees, pupils, paralegals, solicitors and barristers up to ten years PQE. We believe that the provision of good quality publicly funded legal help is essential to protecting the interests of the vulnerable in society and upholding the rule of law. With a new government come new challenges and we want motivated individuals to join the committee to help us continue our work.

In particular, the committee takes on responsibilities for our subgroups, as well as coordinating responses to government consultations and getting our members involved in projects. A number of our committee members started on the committee as students, or when they had been members of YLAL for months (rather than years) so everybody is welcome to apply. Please do not be put off if you are based outside of London – aside from meeting about four times each year in London, being on the committee does not require you to be London-based or any further travel requirement.
