Turpin & Miller (Oxford) – Solicitor or Senior Caseworker, Immigration

Turpin Miller are seeking a solicitor/caseworker to join our deportation team working within our prison projects.

We are looking for a person who is accredited as a Senior Caseworker and has 1+ years of experience in immigration law. However, if you have other relevant experience and are committed to working with us, we are also keen to hear from you.

The deportation team projects provide representation to those facing deportation in the women’s prison estate, to young offenders and to those in HMP Huntercombe, a foreign national-only prison outside of Oxford.

The role is fast paced, varied and involves a significant amount of client contact. You will have conduct of a busy caseload, preparing cases by drafting witness statements, gathering evidence and preparing legal aid applications.

The team’s caseload is funded under our legal aid contract. Two of our projects are run in partnership with the Bonavero Institute for Human Rights at Oxford University. Our team are experienced and committed to providing excellent representation at all stages of the deportation process and are also expanding our public law practice.

Salary is dependent on experience with a range of £25k to £33k.

Our office is based in Oxford, flexible working arrangements are possible and can be discussed on application.
