Farewell to Grayling 05.05
We hope you can support this event on 5th May organised by the Justice Alliance.
The Justice Alliance says:
We have one last task in this government which is to say farewell to the grotesque, and unique puppet: Grayling. So a farewell party is arranged for 5pm on the 5th of the 5th at the MOJ at 102 Petty France in Westminster.
We want to bring together everyone who wants to say goodbye to the puppet; such as our Justice Alliance supporters including probation officers, experts and court interpreters and all those opposed to the banning of books for prisoners, the residence test, and attacks on judicial review.
Party goers will be able to take a selfie with the puppet at this prestigious occasion. Please ensure your organisation is represented, with whatever statement, sign, t-shirt you like and we can then send the selfies round social media on the day.
5th May is also the day that hard pressed criminal law firms have to submit tender bids for the disastrous reorganisation of criminal defence which is likely to force the closure of 1000 small locally based community law firms.
Labour has promised to scrap the tender process but lets make sure that politicians know that we care and ensure promises are kept.
Please get this information sent round your groups and print an invite to put up in your firm/chambers or local court. Lets give him (the evil puppet) a lovely send off.
Download the invite to print off below.
Have you got a bit of spare time over the next few days to email out invites to the event? Based outside London or can’t attend on the 5th but still want to lend a hand? Please contact YLAL Subashini Nathan if you can volunteer with organising support: subashini.nathan@gmail.com.
