APPG meeting 22 Jan

There will be a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on legal aid on Tuesday 22 January at 5.15pm at the House of Commons. The legal aid minister, Lord McNally has agreed to address the meeting, which will cover a broad range of legal aid and access to justice issues.

Members will be aware that there are a number of regulations going through parliament at the moment that bring into effect procedures and guidance for decision-makers to follow when granting legal aid to clients. YLAL is concerned about some of the content of those regulations. The APPG meeting on 22 January may be a good opportunity for MPs and peers to raise those concerns with the minister directly.

We would ask all members to email their MP to ask them to attend the APPG meeting so that these crucial issues can be discussed.

If members would like to attend the meeting please email conference@lapg.co.uk
